NBC Screws Hockey Again

NBC, the network responsible for banning the Mellon Arena parking lot telecasts of Stanley Cup Finals games last year, has angered hockey fans again by choosing to show ice dancing on their main network during the USA-Canada hockey game. The showdown between international hockey's top two teams will be relegated to MSNBC.
Other than the hockey gold medal game, the February 21 USA-Canada game could be the most anticipated event of the tournament. NBC attempted to justify their decision by saying the Olympics attract more female than male viewers.

That may be, but on a day to day basis I see more women in Penguins gear than ice dancing outfits.

Unfortunately this decision means that most of us won't be able to see USA-Canada hockey in HD. It's especially disappointing to those of us who are not watching on a High Def TV in the first place, relegating our coverage to double un-HD.
