Analysis: Without some big point value gold medals from Russia Ice Hockey and USA Figure Skating, this team could fall flat on its face. Manager Tim Lavoie has staked more of his team's success on ice dancing judges than one might prefer.

USA Snowboarding is a strong first round pick, but I don't like the choice of Russian hockey at 2. The much-heralded Russian men lack defense and the women have little chance to medal at all. Lavoie is counting on USA Figure Skating for multiple medals while I see them winning one gold at most. We won't even talk about Ovechkins' speed skating squads.

Fightin' Ovechkins did get off some good picks in the later rounds with Germany Skeleton in Round 7, Switzerland Ski Jumping in Round 10, and Norway Freestyle Skiing in Round 13. Too little, too late.
